The Eventurer / we / us / our means The Eventurer Pty Ltd as trustee for The Eventurer, trading as The Eventurer (ABN  83 503 934 456).

This Privacy Policy applies to all personal information collected by us, whether via our website or by any other means.  By visiting our website, creating an account, or placing an order for products or services, you are accepting and consenting to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.  

This Privacy Policy does not apply to any information you provide to a third party, whether or not that third party requires the personal information in connection with our products and services, or the personal information is provided by you in connection with your use of our website, any function on our website (such as a third party web application for payment processing, eg. Stripe), or any link accessed via our website.  

Collection of your personal information

In order for us to provide our tailored products and services, we will require some personal information from you. This information may include your name, address, email address, a contact phone number, payment methods and transaction details, and any other information you provide to us from time to time.  

Our website requires you to insert some of this personal information at the time you create an account, or if you wish to update your account details. When you place an order, we may also collect information that allows us to prepare and deliver your order to your nominated address and contact person. We may otherwise collect personal information when you interact with our website, or by email or telephone from time to time, to help us prepare your products and provide the associated services to you.  

You can choose not to provide us with the personal information we request, however this may result in us not being able to provide you with the products and services. 

We may also receive personal information from third parties, such as service providers you use in connection with our products and services or website (eg. AfterPay).

We may collect, hold, use or disclose your personal information for the purposes of providing you with the products and services, and to perform other functions and activities relating to the products and our business.  This may include, but is not limited to:

2. completing your order and arranging delivery of any products;

4. communicating with you in relation to special promotions;

5. carrying on our business, including performing our obligations and enforcing our rights, maintaining our business records, and monitoring the use of our website;

6. enabling our service providers to carry out their support functions; and

You can opt out of receiving marketing or promotional emails at any time by sending us an email at info@theeventurer.com.au. If you do so, please allow us up to 3 days to ensure you are removed from our mailing list, and we will thereafter only contact you in relation to your enquiries or orders.

We may also need to disclose your personal information to third parties, such as service providers or contractors who assist us in providing the products and services and managing our business (including but not limited to, providers of technology or technology support services, such as payment processing applications or data storage services, couriers and delivery drivers, and our professional advisors).

We also reserve the right to disclose any personal information:

2. where there is a serious and imminent threat to an individual’s life, health or safety, or a serious threat to public health or safety; or

3. in the event that we sell our business, to any purchaser of the business.

We aim to ensure that the personal information we hold about you is accurate, complete and up to date.  If there are any changes to your personal information, or you believe any information we are holding about you is incorrect or incomplete, please inform us so that we can update our records.  

You may be able to log in to your account to update your own information from time to time via our website.

You can also access, on request, the personal information we hold about you (unless access may be denied under the Privacy Act or other laws).  We may ask you to verify your identity before granting access. If you believe that any of the information you are provided access to is incorrect, please let us know so that we can correct any errors.

Other than as set out in this Privacy Policy, or permitted under the Privacy Act, we will use our reasonable endeavours to prevent the disclosure of your personal information to any person. We will also take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.  

Our website uses the ‘Secure Sockets Layer’ (SSL) protocol, which encrypts the personal information you input when creating your account and processing an order. We also use computer-based safeguards such as firewalls and data encryption, and we enforce physical access controls to our buildings and files to keep this information safe. We only authorise access to employees who need it to carry out their responsibilities.

Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our website, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. You must not share your password with anyone. Please note that email correspondence with us is in free format text and cannot be encrypted. Accordingly, please do not send any sensitive information such as credit/debit card details or passwords via email. 

Your personal information may be stored electronically and/or in hard copy form.  For electronic data storage, we may use public cloud systems managed by third party service providers (such as Microsoft, Dropbox and VentraIP Australia).  You acknowledge that, having regard to the nature of cloud-computing, your information may be replicated to locations other than the physical location of a service provider, and that your information may be stored or accessed outside Australia.  We will endeavour to use only reputable service providers who agree to comply with Australian privacy principles and guidelines, or are subject to similar privacy standards in other jurisdictions.  We will also endeavour to comply with all security measures and protocols implemented by our service providers.  However, we are not responsible for any privacy or data security breach by or affecting our service provider.    

How we use cookies

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer’s hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added, and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.
